Assalamualaykum Sister,

I have started to read about Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani and I am taking interest in Sufism. I am from UK and i will be grateful to you if you know about any Sheikh in the UK from whom I can get words of wisdom.

To the sister who wants to know more about Sufism.

Well it depends on where about in the Uk you live and what language(s) you speak. You can either contact a Shaykh or an organisation like Dawat-e-Islami or Minhaj ul Qur'an.

I would advise you to go to a talk by Shaykh Nuh Mim Keller, Shaykh Al Yaqoubi, Shaykh Habib Ali Jifri, or other classical Hijaz/Sham Ulema.

I would also highly recommend Shaykh Hakim Murad (formerly Timothy Winter) from Oxford University. I think he is part of either the Shadhili or Alawi Tariqa.

PS: I've heard the Shaykh Sayyid Al Yaqoubi will be coming to the UK in a few weeks time. You can perhaps attend the special retreat he holds, or just attend one of his talks.
